Golden Globes 2016!
Yes its that time of year again, the red carpets are being rolled out and the sequins have been sewn on, Hollywood’s A-listers are out in force, primped, preened and ready for Awards Season! And as always Alila has your red carpet report!
As with every year there were the jaw droppers, the “what were you thinking” and the playing it safe dresses on the night. Abs were on show and a LOT of cleavage (clearly Victoria’s Secret have no sponsorship involvement with the Golden Globes judging from the lack of bra’s that were worn!)
Here below are a few of our favourites and if you want to see even more check them all out on our Facebook page!
We’re going to start with Viola Davis in Marchesa and Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Zuhair Murad. We love the midnight shade, the glamourous look, and the elegance of these two gowns. The sleeves are simply divine on Viola Davis, you just know by looking at the dress that it is Marchesa, classic, chic, stylish, embellished and ever so elegant. Jenna’s dress has an extreme plunge and we love that she went simple with hair, make-up and accessories, AND her dress has pockets which we just adore!!
We also loved the golden shimmering shades, after all it is the Golden Globes! Kate Hudson wore Michael Kors, newly-engaged Rosie-Huntington Whitely was in Atelier Versace and Brie Larson, star of Room (which we can’t wait to see!) wore Calvin Klein Collection. Kate has clearly been working her butt (& abs) off in the gym – what a figure! Great to see some muscle and flesh on the red carpet, for far too long they have all been too slim.
We mentioned earlier how there was a serious amount of cleavage on show (here’s looking at you Kirstin Dunst – wow!), between the after party and the main event it seemed to be how low can you go!
As usual there were the “is it fabulous or is it awful” – Cate Blanchett is a case in point. We think this could have been stunning in person but didn’t come across that way in photos. What did you think? Leave a comment below!
Don’t forget you can see all the dresses from last night, and the handsome men in tuxedo’s on our Facebook page let us know which you loved by liking and commenting!
Until the next red carpet…
